I was court ordered at age 50 to treatment. I fought like hell to convince the Judge I didn't need treatment. I had a life changing experience. I have been sober since. My counselor was right my Fiance had been drinking the day he came to visit, I learned if you think they are drinking they are. However I was able to let for of that relationship, it all about me! My sobriety, Thank you Horizons you saved my life!!!!. From a person who would drink every 3 hours just to finally have to Detox AGAIN!

I went here back in 2007, so I'm not sure how it is today! But as good as the treatment was, I find it hard to believe it would drastically go down hill to be a bad program unless they hired all new staff that did things differently than the staff who worked there back in 2007! It is treatment for drug addicts and alcoholics so of course someone there, sent or forced to go or someone who was closed minded and didn't learn a thing while there and probably has since gone back to using, would say bad things about any kind of treatment anywhere! I chose to go on my own and only ended up being there a month not completing the program completely, actually leaving at a bad time, but they let me go and to this day I wish I would've stayed and completed the full program! It was one of the better ones I've seen and I worked in a residential youth treatment and seen different ones first hand! The staff was firm, but supportive and caring and sincerely wanted me to recover! And the assignments were many and hard, even painful most of the time and sharing them was dreadful, but it was exactly what was needed because they say " the truth will set you free" and it does and is the first step and the motivation needed to start making the changes one must make in order to stop using and stay off drugs! Besides, if any drug treatment or change in general was easy, everyone would be successfully doing it and obviously with the increase in drug abusers it's not! I would do a little research on your own, but if they haven't changed their program since 2007, then I'd highly recommend it for anyone needing a good treatment program! Good luck!
